The Alltrack is back to DD duty while the M3 has the PPF removed, and paint underneath corrected. I t was SUPER weird at first ... the revs just hang there as if time has stopped. I normally do not listen to music in the car unless I’m with the family or on a long drive, but it’s like a damn tomb in there . It was super nice yesterday so I threw the windows and that big ol sunroof open. I could faintly hear that little turbo boostin more than its supposed to, haha.
Guesses on the Coupe? Bimmers of this vintage are all POPPING off right now. Even ragtop/smg E46's are going big. Also, I think there is a lot more “under educated” money on BaT since the buyout. See the E30 that went for a quarter mil.
Put ya boy in for at least $100,000.00

call me crazy but I think I prefer the Z4MC, the clownshoe is unique but the Z4 M Coupe looks quite sexy.

Nothing crazy about that, the Z4 chassis is TIGHT too . I have a fair amount of seat time in all 4 variants because a friend’s family was nuts about them growing up. My persona order would be Z4M coupe, Z3M coupe, Z4M roadster, Z3M roadster, then the s52 variants (which are still plenty fun). I’m a sucker for a hot color though, and you don’t see much besides Imola on the Z4s.

No steering wheel buttons. I’d just replace it with something attractive, and hold onto the old one for resale.
Did these have a steering angle sensor?
My car has way too many sensors...

That I don’t know but yes SO may sensors in the E9Xs. A gift mostly, sometimes a curse.
I was just trying to describe how the E90 steering rack is like “laser” “jet fighter” accurate to a colleague who has an S5 sportback. Those were the best words I could come up with. Such a great “cockpit” in that car.

Wowza. If I’m nitpicking I’m not a fan of those wheels on that car. But if you can afford what this car is going to sell for, you can also have your choice of all the wheels on the entire planet.
Interesting that even the S54 cars came with the 5 speed - you had mentioned seat time on these things in a comment below. How does that combination compare to say, your E46 with the same motor with a 6 speed box?

Please, nit pick away at this price. Completely agree on the wheels. Were going back at least 14 years for the Z3's and I didnt yet have my E46 to compare it with but if my memory serves, y ou can do a lot more in each gear with the 5 speed but not so much that it really changes how you shift. I can tell you I was only ever in 3-4 when I was driving haha.

What I wouldn’t give for a dipstick...
It has a fantastic amount of feel, for sure. When I’m driving at 9/10s in the Ozark back roads, you know exactly how rough the road is and exactly when you have to make a little adjustment in the steering angle to maintain traction. It all works together to give you that “in the zone”, flow-state
feeling. Hard to describe to someone who hasn’t felt it!

Yeah, I think it’s just what they had laying around with the E36 generation 3 series. Believe even the non-M E46 cars started getting the 6 speed only midway through their run, after these clownshoes had ended production.

That interior is hideous. Blue leather is never a good look. Okay, fine. It was a good look for 3 months in 1997. But it hasn’t been a good look SINCE then.
I do
like clownshoes because they’re so ugly and silly. But “Ugly and silly” doesn’t play well with “worth big money” in my mind. Then again, i’m not the one that matters, only the people bidding on this car.

Man. The Z4 Coupe (in my opinion) combines one of the worst looking front ends on a car in the last couple of decades with one of the prettiest rear ends in the last couple of decades. Seen from the rear 3/4 it’s bite-the-back-of-your-hand pretty. But a full on profile shot...?
